Rwanda also known as the land of a thousand hills is a landlocked East African nation with a green, mountain landscape. Its prestigious Volcanoes National Park is home to mountain gorillas and Golden monkeys. The National park includes 4,507m-tall Mt. Karisimbi and 4 other forested volcanoes. In the southwest is Nyungwe National Park, with an antiquated montane rain forest that is a habitat for chimpanzees and different primates.

The “Parc National de Volcans” (or PNV as it’s known by local people) lies along the Virunga Mountains, with 8 old volcanoes, which are shared by Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Only a two hours drive from Rwanda’s capital of Kigali, the National park is a focal area for exploring some particularly Rwandan encounters. While a visit to the mountain gorillas is often at the highest point for guests, the magnificent landscape additionally offers exciting climbing and visits to the interesting Golden monkeys.
