Detailed Itinerary – 8 Days Uganda Safari

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe, Uganda

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by a professional Umoja Motherland Tours Ltd guide who will transfer you to your hotel

Overnight at Lake Victoria Serena Kigo (B&B)

Day 2 Depart for Kibale Forest National Park

We will depart for Fort Portal and explore the area around the base of the Rwenzori Mountains. At Kibale Forest National Park, you will see over 13 species of primates including Chimpanzee, red Colubus monkey, the rare L’Hoest monkey and many others

Overnight Kyaninga Lodge (FB)

Day 3 Chimpanzee Tracking

Wake up early morning and head to the briefing area for Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking. In Kibale Forest National Park you will trek habituated Chimps. These engaging apes, are human being’s close relatives and are great fun to watch as they play and fight in the fruit trees. Experienced guides will introduce you to the different members of the chimp families, as well as the birds and plant life of the forest.

Day 4: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Kasese. Queen Elizabeth National Park has over 600 bird species, more than any other national park in Uganda. You will also be on the lookout for elephants!

Overnight at Mweya Lodge (FB)

Day 5: Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel

A popular route you may take for the game drive is the Kasenyi sector, well-known for its lions that prey on Queen Elizabeth’s large population of Uganda Kob (antelope). Wildlife to look out for includes elephants, antelope and occasionally a hyena. Later, you will take a boat for a water safari on the Kazinga Channel.

Day 6: Depart For Bwindi Impenetrable forest (Gorilla planet)

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a UNESCO Natural World Heritage site and one of the richest biological and botanical regions in the world. Bwindi’s most-revered species are the approximately 400 wild Mountain Gorillas.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking

Your Uganda Gorilla trek will start after a briefing by the rangers. You will locate and interact (under supervision) with a gorilla family. The guides will interpret the apes’ behavior and advice on what you are watching. If time allows you will visit the Batwa.

Overnight Mahogany Springs Lodge (FB)

Day 8: Depart for Kampala

We will depart for Entebbe with a stopover at the Equator. Your Umoja Motherland Tours guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.

Dayroom at Lake Victoria Serena (FB)

Please note that check-in for international flights should be done two hours prior to flight departure. The departures area of the airport has a small restaurant, several duty free shops and a seating area.
